AS 1Malaysia Unitholders Get 6.6 sen Dividend for 2012

Amanah Saham Nasional Berhad (ASNB), announced a dividend of 6.60 sen per unit for Amanah Saham 1Malaysia (AS 1Malaysia) for the financial year ended 30th September 2012.

The  dividend is 0.10 sen per unit higher when compared with 6.50 sen per unit announced for 2010. Kindly refer to “Historical AS1 Malaysia Dividend Rate” for previous year dividend.

The dividend will involve a total payment of RM459.86 million and will benefit 336,411 unit holders who currently hold 8.02 billion units of AS 1Malaysia.

As of 25th September 2011, AS 1Malaysia has recorded a gross income of RM577.4 million. Profit from the sale of shares contributed RM158.1 million or 27.4%,  dividend income from investee companies contributed RM318.3 million or 55.1%, and RM101 million or 17.5 % is derived from investment in short term instruments and other income.

The dividend calculation of the AS 1Malaysia will be based on the average monthly minimum balance held throughout the financial year of the fund.

The dividend will be automatically credited into the unit holders’ accounts on 1st October 2012. In order to facilitate the dividend payment, all transactions for AS 1Malaysia has been suspended starting 21st to 30th September 2012.

Unit holders will be able to update their accounts at ASNB head office, ASNB branch or ASNB agents starting 1st October 2011.

Unitholders who invest in AS 1Malaysia through the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) Members’ Investment Scheme will have their income distribution credited directly into their EPF accounts.

    • Jess, check with ASNB or their agent from time to time. If somebody sell it, you may be able to buy.
