ASM Unitholders Get 6.6 sen Dividend for 2015

Amanah Saham Nasional Bhd (ASNB), announced a dividend of 6.6 sen per unit for the Amanah Saham Malaysia for the financial year ending 31st March, 2015 which is similar to the amount declared in 2014.

Kindly refer to “Historical ASM Dividend Rate” for previous year dividend.

The dividend will involve a payout of RM1.01 billion. The figure is 6.8 percent higher than the payment of RM945.24 million made in 2014. Currently, there are 537,975 unit holders who currently hold 15.29 billion units of ASM.

To date, ASM registered a gross income of RM1.24 billion. Of this, profit from the sale of shares contributing RM599.5 million or 48.5 per cent, dividend income from investment companies contributed RM459.9 million or 37.2 per cent, while the remaining income of RM177.6 million or 14.3 per cent was derived from investments in short term instruments.

The income distribution will be reinvested in additional units of ASM and be automatically credited into unitholders’ accounts on 1st April 2015.

ASM transactions at all branches and agents nationwide will be suspended in between 22nd March to 2nd April 2015 to facilitate the calculation of income distribution. Unitholders can update their investment books starting from 1st April 2015.

The calculation of the income distribution is based on the average minimum balance held throughout the financial year of ASM.
