ASW2020 Unitholders Get 6.7 sen Dividend for 2013

Amanah Saham Nasional Bhd (ASNB), announced a dividend of 6.7 sen per unit for the Amanah Saham Wawasan 2020 for the financial year ending 31st August, 2013.

The dividend is an increase of 0.1 sen per unit compared with the 6.6 sen dividend given in 2012. Kindly refer to “Historical ASW2020 Dividend Rate” for previous year dividend.

The dividend will involve a payout of RM1.062 billion. The figures is 9.2 percent higher than the payment of RM973.16 million made in 2012.

The payout will benefit 899,967 unit holders which currently hold 15.8 billion units of ASW 2020.

As of 25 August 2013, ASW 2020 has recorded a gross income of RM1.280 billion.

Profits from the sales of shares in companies contributed RM624.46 million or 48.8 per cent, while dividends from investee companies contributed (RM421.18 million or 32.9 per cent) and income from investments in short term instruments and other income contributed RM234.05 million or 18.3 of the gross income.

The dividend payments will be automatically credited into the investment accounts of unitholders on 1st September. To facilitate the payment, all transaction of the ASW 2020 will be suspended from 25th August untill 1st September.

The calculation of income distribution will be based on the average monthly minimum balance held throughout the financial year of ASW 2020.

Unit holders will be able to update their accounts at ASNB head office, ASNB branch offices or ASNB agents beginning 2nd September 2013.

Investors who participated in ASW 2020 through the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) Members’ Investment Scheme will have their income distribution credited directly into their respective EPF accounts.

ASW2020 is a fixed price fund where 51 per cent of the units are opened to Bumiputera investors and the remaining 49 per cent to non-Bumiputera investors.

  • 6.70 per cent dividend still worth it for those who invest or put their money in ASW 2020 compared to FD that can give min 3.00%++

  • Property development is KL is bearish with prices of apartment/ offices becoming unreachable. As a bumiputera investor in ASB would there be a possibility that PNB will give preference or discounts in acquiring properties in the new development near Merdeka Stadium. We hope PNB can consider this in thier plan as reward for loyal investors.
