Amanah Saham Nasional Bhd (ASNB), a wholly-owned unit of Permodalan Nasional Bhd (PNB), announced an income distribution of 6.35 sen per unit for Amanah Saham Didik (ASD) for the financial year ending June 30 2010.
The income distribution would involve a total payment of RM207.75 million, an increase of 33.50 per cent compared with RM155.59 million paid last year. As of June 2010,there are 293,504 unit holders who collectively owned 3.59 billion units.
Until June 11, 2010, ASD recorded a gross income of RM258.33 million with dividend income from investee companies contributing RM89.09 million or 34.49 per cent to the total income.

eDividend initiative was intoduced during 2010 Budget speech last year. Under the eDividend initiative, dividend payments from listed companies will be credited directly into shareholders bank account, instead of through cheques.
Paperless dividend payment system is convenient and faster for shareholders and helps avert potential problem of misplaced, lost or expired cheques.
In Bursa Malaysia, 500 listed companies are currently paying dividends to shareholders but only eight, including British American Tobacco, Nestle, Malayan Banking and Bursa Malaysia are offering eDividend.

The Employees Provident Fund (EPF) has declared a dividend rate of 5.65 per cent for the financial year ended Dec 31, 2009. The dividend paid in 2009 is 1.15 percent higher than the amount paid in 2008. In 2008 the dividend rate was 4.5 percent. News on higher dividend for year 2009 was in mainstream media last October. In 2009, EPF make agreat achievement by securing highest ever net income at RM19.63 billion. This is 34.82 percent or RM14.56 billion higher than the amount recorded in 2008.

Bank Kerjasama Rakyat Malaysia Bhd (Bank Rakyat) , the country’s only cooperative bank announce that they will considering lifting a five-year freeze on accepting new members as part of plans to raise RM500 million in extra capital.
However, the priority will be given to the existing members to increase their investment in Bank Rakyat. Bank Rakyat will seek shareholders approval for the capital increase at its annual general meeting in April 2010. For those who eagerly waiting for this opportunity, please remember this date.
