ASB

ASB pay 8.75% in dividend and bonus for financial end 2010. This comprise of 7.5 sen dividend and 1.25 sen bonus. In the same period, a total of 7.0 million peoples subscribe to ASB with total fund size of more than RM82.7 billion. At this size, ASB is the biggest funds that manage by ASNB.

In summary, ASB invest 80% of the total funds size in Malaysia Stock Market. The remaining is in cash or other income instrument.

2011 IMD World Most Competitive Countries


IMD

The IMD World Competitiveness Yearbook (WCY) is the world’s most renowned and comprehensive annual report on the competitiveness of nations, ranking and analysis of how a nation’s environment creates and sustains the competitiveness of enterprises.

IMD analyze the countries based on four main criteria namely Economic Performance, Government Efficiency, Business Efficiency and Infrastructure.

Each of these factors is divided into 5 sub-factors which highlight every facet of the areas analyzed.

In 2011, Malaysia drop to 16th position from number 10th in 2010.

XOX Berhad IPO

XOX Berhad, a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) is schedule to be listed in ACE Market on 10th June 2011.

The IPO consists of public issue of 46.8 million new ordinary shares at an IPO price of RM0.80 per share at RM0.10 par value. Out of this, 7.5 million shares are allocated to Malaysian public, 9.5 million shares allocated to eligible directors, employees and business associates and 29.8 million shares for private placement.

The IPO will raise RM37.4 million in proceeds. The proceed will be used for company’s expansion plans and to enhance its profile among consumers.

Initial Public Offering

So far, 2011 is a good year for Initial Public Offering (IPO) listing in Bursa Malaysia. At the time of writing, there were 14 new IPOs listed. Out of these figure 8 IPOs were listed in the Main Market while 6 were listed in ACE Market.

All the IPOs debuted higher than IPO price on the first day of listing. However, 3 out of the stocks close lower than IPO price at the time of writing.

OSK Technology Sector Stock Picks, May 2011

Tech

OSK have no buy calls among the semiconductor companies and HDD component manufacturers under their coverage.

Although share prices have largely retraced from respective peak valuation since 2009, OSK remain wary of potential earnings shortfall should Ringgit appreciation accelerates, potential component shortages insemiconductor supply chain materializes, or weak sentiment in the consumer PC marketprevails.

Hence, OSK maintain UNDERWEIGHT recommendation on the sector.
