ASB2 Unitholders Get 6.50 sen Dividend for 2017


ASB2Amanah Saham Bumiputera 2 (ASB2) unitholders will receive a dividend of 6.50 sen per unit for the financial year ending 31st March 2017. The dividend is lower than 7.05 sen dividend paid in 2016.

The dividend will involve a total payout of RM384.7 million, which will benefit more than 200,000 unit holders who currently hold some 7.4 billion units.

As of 28th February 2017, ASB2 recorded a gross income of RM349.80 million, of which income from the sale of shares contributed RM158.8 million, or 45.4 per cent.

Dividend income from investment in companies contributed RM133.2 million or 38.1%, while the remaining RM57.8 million was derived from investments in short-term instruments and other income.

The income distribution and bonus would be automatically credited into the respective unitholder’s account on 1st April 2017. Unitholders could update their accounts beginning 3rd April 2017 at ASNB branches or agents nationwide.

The calculation of the income distribution is based on the average monthly minimum balance held throughout the financial year of ASB 2.

All ASB2 transactions at all branches and agents nationwide will be suspended in between 22nd March to 2nd April 2017 to facilitate the calculation of income distribution.
