This post suppose to be “Analysis of Cash Rebate Credit Card” 2 but due to complexity of current cash rebate credit card, it just end up to be a compilation or comparison. Anyway, the most interesting cards to have are OCBC Titanium & Citibank Cash Back Platinum.

On top of cards listed above, there are many other cards that offer cash rebate such as cards from Citibank, HSBC Amanah and Public Bank. However, the rebates that they offer are really low.

If you have any comments or you find more interesting cards, please leave it in the comments section below.

  • A very helpful comparison. Thank you.

I’d suggest to add “Monthly Rebate Limit” as part of the comparison. Some cards do have the limit or while some don’t.

  • OCBC Great Eastern Platinum should be up to 3% for spending above RM20,000 and 3% for Great Eastern Policy. I have one.

There are lots of fine print for all cards from all banks, readers should read in details before consider to use the card to earn the cash back.

    e.g.
    1. Citibank Cash Back, only RM30 per month for 5% rebate for Petrol. [I believe good enough for most people, who spend over RM600 on petrol every month?]
    2. OCBC Great Eastern, 3% for GE policy only if you sign up the AutoPay.

The recent promotion from Public Bank, 8% cash back rebate have even more fine print i.e. terms and conditions.

    • Michelle…can u explain in more details?

    • Michelle, I’m surprised to hear the requirements too. I don’t see such term on the website.

FYI, I’m using the Essential card to complement the “OCBC Titanium”. They seems to be in good match if you’re heavy credit card user.

  • OCBC cash back rewards also include 33% rebate interest paid.

OCBC even offer cash back when u refuel your car in other country. In addition, u can get cash back in any wide store (Tangs, Isetan, Guandian and even 99 SpeedMart ), with no minimum amount spend.

MEGA SALES are coming in town, so was this a good idea to have a card to help u save more rather than spend more ?

  • OCBC Titanium card is offering no mininum requirements for the cash rebates. the only cap is the maximum cash rebates per month is RM50. Hence if you spend more you still will get only the maximum of RM50 cash per month.
So I have been earning this RM50 since I first got it until now.
Really one of the best in town, of course I wish the bank can increase the max. cap to RM100…haha
