Credit Reporting Agencies Bill 2009 passed by the Dewan Rakyat recently. The Bill requires credit-reporting agencies to obtain consent from an individual prior revealing his financial information to anyone else.

Consumers have the right to inspect the data and give their consent for the data to be displayed or otherwise.

The Bill also clarifies the roles and responsibilities of such agencies, which previously have been criticised for wrongly blacklisting the names of borrowers seeking loans from financial institutions.

The last date to submit Individual Income Tax Return for year 2009 in on 30th April 2010 which is tomorrow. If you fail to pay by the due date you have to pay penalty charge of 10%. The penalty is increased by another 5% if the remaining unpaid balance not paid after 60 days.

Up to 10% Cash Back on Petrol Spend with RHB Bank Credit Card

RHB Bank is having a new campaign where all RHB Credit Cards holders can get up to 10% cash back on petrol spending at Petronas, Shell, BHP, Esso, Mobil and Caltex petrol stations.

The campaign will ends on 3rd July 2010. The cash back is capped at a maximum of RM60 per month, per card holder. All cash back will be credited into Principal Card holders account & will be reflected in the monthly statement.

Online ASNB Funds Top Up with CIMBClicks

Recently, Permodalan Nasional Bhd and CIMB Bank unveiled CIMB Clicks Amanah Saham Nasional Bhd (ASNB) Funds Top Up Facility

This online facility allows all registered ASNB investors, who have a CIMB Clicks account to make additional investments in five fixed-price unit trust funds managed by ASNB.

The five funds are Amanah Saham Bumiputera (ASB), Amanah Saham Malaysia (ASM), Amanah Saham Didik (ASD), Amanah Saham Wawasan 2020 (ASW2020) and Amanah Saham 1Malaysia (AS 1Malaysia).

Third party top up is also accepted under this service, thus allowing family members or guardians to invest for their loved one.

Stock Market History on “Sell in May and Go Away” Adage

“Sell in May and go away” adage or also widely know as Halloween indicator, is the belief that the period from November to April has significantly stronger growth on average than the other months.

In such strategies, stocks are sold at the start of May and the proceeds held in bonds or a deposit account. Stocks are bought again in November, typically around Halloween.
