The feature & benefit offered by the new American Express Gold Credit Card is more attractive when compare to other AMEX credit & debit card or even other Maybank credit card.

Among the most attractive features are the card offer the lowest finance charges among all cards in Malaysia. The card, which offers 9 per cent interest a year on outstanding balance also comes with a lifetime fee waiver and an introductory offer of no finance charges till the end of 2009. Affin Bank previously held the record for the lowest finance charges, at 9.99 per cent a year.

Cash Rebate for AMEX Cards

Good news for Malaysian American Express (AMEX) Charge Card Holder!. Now you can convert your Membership Rewards Points to cash rebate. This cash will be use to offset your mothly statement balance in full or part. All you need to do is 4 simple steps.

  1. Check the amount due and MR points balance as per Card statement.
  2. Call Customer Service Hotline at 03-2050 0888 (before statement due date) to convert your MR points to cash rebate.
  3. Specify the no. of points/amount that you wish to convert.
  4. MR points will be deducted and the corresponding value in RM will be credited to your card account. These will be reflected in the following month’s statement.

Nowdays, more and more people are using Credit or Debit Cards at petrol pump. The main reason is you do not need to que up at the counter for the payment. Another great reason on why we must use Credit or Debit Cards at petrol pump is because of the extra benefit that we going to receive.

What kind of benefit that you going to received? Well I think a lot of people are already aware of the current trend for banks in Malaysia to issue Credit or Debit Cards that offer cash rebate or higher rewards point to their customers. Analysis of Cash Rebate Credit Cards

Currently there are many banks in Malaysia are offering cash rebate credit cards. If I am still remember correctly, the first bank that offer this kind of benefit was Public Bank since I own their card way bank in 2001. They offering cash back option for their VISA cards but Mastercard user also able to convert their point rewards (VIP points) to cash back option. However as time goes by, now other banks are offering better cash rebate than Public Bank.

I will try to analyse all the banks that provide this kind of benefit on their credit cards. However, for this post I limit to the banks that provide cash rebate for permanent basis, on all transaction (except petrol) & no carry forward balance is required. Also I exclude RHB Business Platinum Credit Card as it not meant for end user.
