ASN Unitholders Get 6.05 sen Dividend for 2011

Amanah Saham Nasional will receive a of 6.05 sen per unit for Sekim Amanah Nasional (ASN) for the financial year ending 31st December 2011. The figure is 0.05 sen higher when compared with 6 sen per declared last year.

The dividend will involve a payment of RM92.8 million and will benefit 1.2 million unit holders who currently hold a total of 1.5 billion ASN units.

As of 23rd December 2011, ASN recorded a gross income of RM114.67 million. Of that amount, profit from the sale of shares contributed RM58.71 million or 51.2 per cent. Dividend income from investment in companies, contributed RM43.33 million or 37.8 per cent while the balance of RM12.63 million or 11 per cent was derived from other instruments.

In order to facilitate dividend calculation, all transactions for ASN at the ASNB headquarters, ASNB offices and agents have been suspended starting 27th December 2011 until 2nd January 2012.

ASN income distribution was calculated based on the units held on 31st December 2011 and it would be automatically credited into the unit holders’ accounts based on the net asset value of ASN as at the last day of the year.
